Skincare for boys - yes, you need a routine too
Share
Many boys grow up with the idea that skincare is "a girl thing." Biology, however, disagrees: during puberty, testosterone enlarges the sebaceous glands even more than it does in girls, and hair follicles in boys are typically larger and more active. The result—oilier skin, more clogged pores, and often more persistent acne than in girls.
The good news is that skincare for boys is very simple:
- Morning: gentle face wash → moisturizer → sunscreen
- Evening: cleansing, especially after sports or working out → moisturizer
If you shave, be careful with your products. Harsh shaving foams with fragrances and alcohol can further irritate skin that is already struggling with acne. It is better to choose gentle formulas for sensitive skin and a sharp, clean razor to reduce irritation.
Sweating after sports also requires attention—do not leave sweat and dirt on your face for hours, as this is a direct path to clogged pores. Just wash your face after your workout; it's very easy.
There is nothing "less manly" about having clean, healthy skin. That is exactly why we created the Good Guys line—a cleansing gel and moisturizer made specifically for oilier male skin, without extra steps and without complications.
